- Prevention of pollution -- preventing pollution and minimising harmful emissions and discharges from our operations.
- Continuous improvement -- continually improving our environmental performance through the setting and review of environmental objectives and targets.

4. Digital-First Operations
As a technology company, WagePerks Ltd operates on a digital-first basis. This approach delivers inherent environmental benefits that we actively maximise:
4.1 Paperless Working
- The WagePerks platform enables employers to manage employee benefits, HR processes, documentation, and shift scheduling digitally, eliminating the need for paper-based processes.
- Our internal operations are paperless. All documentation, contracts, and communications are managed digitally.
- We actively discourage printing and have implemented policies to minimise any residual paper use.
4.2 Remote and Flexible Working
- We support remote and flexible working arrangements for our employees, reducing the environmental impact of commuting.
- We use video conferencing and digital collaboration tools in place of physical meetings wherever practical, reducing travel-related emissions.
- Where travel is necessary, we encourage the use of public transport, car sharing, and other lower-emission alternatives.
4.3 Digital Service Delivery
- Our services are delivered entirely through digital channels, including web and mobile applications, avoiding the environmental costs associated with physical distribution.
- The employee benefits offered through the WagePerks platform include digital vouchers and online discount codes, reducing the need for physical fulfilment.
5. Energy Efficiency
5.1 Data Centre and Hosting
- We select cloud hosting and data centre providers that demonstrate strong environmental credentials, including the use of renewable energy and high standards of energy efficiency.
- We monitor and seek to optimise the energy efficiency of our platform infrastructure, including server utilisation, data storage, and network usage.
- We conduct regular reviews of our technology stack to identify opportunities for improved energy efficiency.
5.2 Office and Workplace
- Where we operate physical office premises, we implement energy efficiency measures including LED lighting, energy-efficient equipment, and smart heating and cooling controls.
- We monitor energy consumption and set targets for reduction.
- We encourage employees to adopt energy-saving practices, including switching off equipment when not in use and making efficient use of heating and cooling.
6. Waste Reduction
6.1 Waste Hierarchy
We apply the waste hierarchy in our operations, prioritising in the following order:
- Prevention -- avoiding waste generation through digital-first practices and careful procurement.
- Reuse -- reusing equipment and materials where possible, including refurbished IT equipment.
- Recycling -- recycling waste materials where prevention and reuse are not possible, including electronic waste, paper, and packaging.
- Recovery -- supporting energy recovery from waste where recycling is not feasible.
- Disposal -- disposing of waste responsibly and in compliance with all applicable regulations as a last resort.
6.2 Electronic Waste
- IT equipment that has reached the end of its useful life is disposed of through certified WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) recycling providers in compliance with the WEEE Regulations 2013.
- We maximise the useful life of IT equipment through proper maintenance and, where appropriate, refurbishment.
- Data is securely erased from all equipment before disposal or recycling, in compliance with our data protection obligations.
7. Procurement and Supply Chain
We integrate environmental considerations into our procurement decisions by:
- Giving preference to suppliers who demonstrate strong environmental performance and hold recognised environmental certifications.
- Considering the environmental impact of products and services throughout their lifecycle, including manufacture, use, and disposal.
- Engaging with suppliers to encourage improvement in environmental performance.
- Including environmental requirements in supplier contracts and assessments where appropriate.
8. Carbon Emissions

- Scope 2 -- indirect emissions from purchased electricity, heating, and cooling.
- Scope 3 -- other indirect emissions occurring in our value chain, including employee commuting, business travel, and supply chain activities.
